Levi Phillips, professionally known as Blade, is a drum and bass DJ and producer from Taunton, Somerset. He’s known for heavy amen rollers, jazz and soul-infused beats and inventive reworks of classic tracks, with deep, rolling basslines and polished production running through everything he makes.
He started DJing in 1991, aged 15, and moved into production at 22. His influences run from Marvin Gaye, Willie Hutch and Bob Marley to Beethoven, and you can hear that range in the depth of the music.
His music has earned the support of LTJ Bukem, Fabio, Goldie and Grooverider. In 2009 he founded the ONE7SIX imprint, which continues to showcase forward-thinking drum and bass.
Away from music, Levi is a black and grey realism tattoo artist at LEVI70SIXTATTOO.
